Louise is celebrating her birthday!

On July 25, 1978, at 11:45 AM, a baby girl was born who would go down in medical history – Louise Brown. At the time, media all over the world spoke of a miracle. Louise became the very first child to be born through in vitro fertilization (IVF). Her parents had been trying for a baby for nine long years before deciding to try this completely new and untested method.

To honor this groundbreaking event, July 25 is celebrated as International Embryology Day.

What is she like? “Louise is a very kind and pleasant woman,” says our doctor Stanislav Los Chovanec, who met her in 2017 during the ASRM assisted reproduction conference in San Antonio (USA), where he also managed to take a photo with her.
