Induction (induced ovulation)

Induced ovulation is the hormonal support of the growth and maturation of oocytes in the ovaries followed by natural fertilization. This is most suitable for women with anovulatory cycles, when the regular release of a mature egg does not occur. Different types of hormones are used for ovarian stimulation, the most common of which is clomiphen citrade (Clostilbegyt). During the treatment the number and size of the follicles in the ovaries are monitored by ultrasound examinations. In those follicles immature eggs mature. The condition and height of the uterus lining is also evaluated. There are minimal risks directly connected to this method except the possibility of multiple pregnancies and the typical complications connected to such a pregnancy.
